The varied education and networking sessions are structured to meet the needs of healthcare executives, practice professionals, managers of all levels, physicians, nurses, and other business professionals. Attendance by administrator-physician teams, including mid-level managers, is highly encouraged to cover all the educational offerings on our agenda and to support one another in undertaking the challenges of today’s health care organizations.

Session 1-01

Nate’s weekly BIG Ideas from the Business Intelligence Guy podcast has plenty of ideas to your practice better. His consulting focuses on using SQL Server to mine and leverage medical practice data into actionable knowledge.
Session 1-02
Learning Objectives: By the end of this presentation, participants will be able to:
- Identify key recent developments in health care laws, regulations, and reimbursement policies impacting provider and physician organizations, including federal and state enforcement trends.
- Assess emerging legal and regulatory risks associated with new technologies, including artificial intelligence and digital health tools.

Andrew Schillinger is a health care attorney with Foster Garvey PC where he advises organizations across the health care landscape. His work spans hospital systems, physician groups, academic medicine networks, and a broad range of clinical therapy practices.
Andrew’s practice focuses on guiding health care organizations through complex regulatory, compliance, and transactional matters. He regularly advises on Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement, fraud and abuse laws, and enforcement issues involving the Anti‑Kickback Statute, False Claims Act, and the Physician Self‑Referral Law (Stark Law). He also counsel’s clients on EMTALA obligations, HIPAA and other privacy and security requirements, health care contracting, and graduate medical education programs.

Mikaela Louie assists health care facilities and providers with managing the regulatory environment, allowing them to focus on offering quality care and access to their patients and communities.
Mikaela’s practice is devoted to helping hospitals and health care providers on a wide range of matters, including regulatory compliance, health information privacy, data security, fraud and abuse, contracting, licensing, certificates of need, and governance. She also has experience representing health care providers at all levels of the Certificate of Need process, including related litigation.
Prior to joining Foster Garvey PC, Mikaela was a judicial extern for Justice Mary Yu of the Washington State Supreme Court. Before law school, she worked as a consultant and trainer for a variety of health care institutions from FQHCs to government health agencies and private hospital systems.

Heather Edwards, RN, CPH, is a healthcare risk management professional with more than two decades of clinical and quality experience. As Director of Risk Management at Physicians Insurance, she works with physicians, healthcare leaders, and medical practices to identify emerging risks, strengthen patient safety practices, and reduce professional liability exposure.
In her current role, Heather provides education, consultation, and resources to healthcare organizations on topics such as malpractice prevention, documentation practices, patient safety, and operational risk mitigation. She regularly works with healthcare teams to implement proactive strategies that support safer care delivery and reduce liability risk.
Heather is a Registered Nurse (RN) and holds the Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) credential. She is passionate about helping healthcare organizations build cultures of safety and resilience while navigating an increasingly complex healthcare risk and regulatory environment.

Lauren K. Harris, FACMPE, CPPM, CPCO, is the Owner and Principal of Harris Healthcare Consulting, LLC.
She is passionate about supporting independent medical practices and enjoys partnering with them to help them succeed. With more than 25 years of experience developing leadership and operational expertise across a variety of medical specialties in both large and small organizations, she founded her own consulting firm in July 2020. Through her work, she collaborates with practitioners and practice leaders, providing strategic business and operational guidance.
Lauren earned her MGMA/ACMPE certification in 2008 and was recognized as a Fellow in the American College of Medical Practice Executives in 2013. She also holds and maintains the Certified Physician Practice Manager and Certified Professional Compliance Officer credentials through AAPC.
In addition to her professional work, she is a co-founder of the 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, Assembly of the Wandering Shepherd. The organization is dedicated to promoting the human-animal bond, grounded in the belief that all living creatures possess aspects of the divine. Its mission is to equip animal guardians with the skills needed to support health and wellness while reducing pain and suffering across all living beings.

Sean Graham is a government affairs professional serving as Senior Director of Government Affairs & Policy at the Washington State Medical Association. In this role, he leads the association’s legislative and regulatory advocacy, working with state lawmakers, agencies, and health care stakeholders to advance policies affecting physicians and patient care in Washington. He has been actively involved in shaping and advocating for legislation on issues such as scope of practice, Medicaid access, and health system regulation, and frequently represents WSMA in legislative testimony and policy discussions.
